I work by the following proverbs:
"Work smarter, not harder" - Hard work is no substitute for doing what is actually needed.
"Learn it right, then learn it fast" - New people should be led safely, never rushed.
"A stitch in time saves nine" - Skipping maintenance/safety isn't worth risking the whole job.
"Don't put all your eggs in one basket" - Failure is inevitable - better not to be surprised.
"A rolling stone gathers no moss" - I like to keep working all day.
“The hands remember what the ears forget.” - Engraved memory only comes from doing.
Things I do not generally participate in:
Substance abuse
Spitting on the ground, or using saliva as a lubricant on tools or hardware
Leaving tools in the sun/rain
Inhaling dust without a filtration mask
Loud sounds without hearing protection.
Betraying the customer's trust, even if they don't know it.
Having worked in indoor electrical, outdoor underground electrical distribution, and carpentry construction, Steve has taken his tool familiarity from his teenage home garage mechanic hobby and found himself using all kinds of new tools and hardware, as well as operating much larger vehicles with trailers and heavy loads, boasting a CDL-A license earned in 2024 with air brakes and no restrictions.
His extensive experience working in a modern technology corporation as a underwriter's assistant and then software engineer has prepared him to meet the expectations of large companies, including the use of enterprise software products like the Microsoft suite. His extensive extra-curricular history with PC applications, network setup, and electronics hardware has prepared him to manage his own business.
He spent a couple years as a full-time student at LTU pursuing a degree in Engineering, passed calculus, sat on the Alternative Energy Student Group board, and showed stellar performance on class engineering projects with outside-of-the-box solutions to constrained problems.
Born in 1987 and raised in Waterford, he co-founded a local wildlife conservation non-profit (cowlmich.org), currently serves in the role of President. Steve lives in Waterford between 3 lakes with his small new family and two cats.
KTL is currently just one employee to be working primarily in Oakland County, Michigan.
